bb-emc2.sh
This is an improved replacement for the BBPE 3.1 standard ext script bb-emc.sh to allow for both PCI and Sbus HBA cards with an alternate line option for hosts that are BCV mount hosts. A couple of other modifications make the script more robust than the original.

bb-via-mail.tar.gz
The normal communication between bb-client and server uses Port 1984 and the bb command located in the $BBHOME/bin directory. This works fine for internal LAN, but doesn't work for Servers inside the DMZ or on other locations behind firewalls. The call is always: $BBHOME/bin/bb {IP of Server} "some status text" All information for the Server is written in "some status text", so I got the idea to encapsulate this information to transfer it through the firewalls. I got the idea with mails, ok they are not in-time but usualy it works and most of informations are not time critical, like load, disk-usage and message files. At least the default on bb let them run every 5 minutes, so if the mail takes again 5 minutes it would be fine for me.

BB-Client-1.00.tar.gz
A simple perl module using IO::Socket to act as a perl client for BigBrother. Not sure if this will be of use to anyone but feel free to let me know either way whether you liked it or not. Example Usage: eval { $bb = BB::Client->new('192.168.100.1',1984); $bb->sendmsg("some.host.com","Disk","red","Disk at 80% usage"); } See man page for full details. Please note that the module only allows for a message to be sent to a BB server, it has no base tests of its own however, this will be included shortly.

Sample included local entensions: Mail Queue, Disk I/O, Memory, and CPU modes. Also included, a set of scripts for saving data and graphing the results, loosely based on the original larrd release.

bbfetch2.3.tar.gz
BB-Fetch v2 is a rewrite of the old version of bbfetch because there was no combo messages support. This version includes normal and combo messages support. The purpose of bb-fetch stays the same as the old one. Instead of sending bb data from the client to the server, with bb-fetch the bb data will be collected by the server using the ssh protocol. This is very handy at well protected sites like DMZ's where no connections are allowed to the localnet but ssh connections are allowed from the localnet to the DMZ. Has been tested on Linux, Solaris 7, 8 and HPUX 10.20, 11.00 but works on most platforms.
